Drug Names(s): 181771

Description: 181771 is a Cholecystokinin A (CCK-A) receptor agonist. CCK is synthesized in the gut wall and released into the portal circulation in response to the presence of nutrients (especially fatty acids) within the gut. It acts as a satiety signal. In rats, peripheral or central injections of CCK reduce food intake. Therefore, CCK agonists may be important in decreasing food intake.
