Drug Names(s): 6F
6F is an oral apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) mimetic peptide. apoA-I is the major protein of HDL particles, the good cholesterol that removes excess cholesterol and other lipids from artery walls and other tissues.
6F is hoped to overcome problems with the oral peptide mimetic D-4F, which required too much drug substance for efficacy such that it was not cost effective to manufacture.
